Blood cancer is a disease that affects the production and function of blood cells in the body. It starts in the bone marrow. There are different types of blood cancers. Radiation therapy

It is given before a stem cell transplant. This treatment entails destroying cancer cells with radiation to relieve pain or discomfort.

Gene Therapy

One of the FDA approved treatments for blood cancer is Kymriah. In this treatment, the immune cells of the patient are modified genetically to fight the source of cancer.

The recent researches and advances in the cure for blood cancer have transformed the treatment methods for the disease. New oral drugs are being used successfully for treating cancer. These have lesser side-effects when compared to the traditional chemotherapy. These drugs may be used independently or along with chemotherapy.
