According to the American Cancer Society, 1.7 new cases of breast cancer emerge each year. Diet can prevent cancer from recurring. A publication is given out by the University of California also reveals the influence of good nutrition for breast cancer.

A study in the US, 2002, revealed that about one-third of cancer deaths occurred due to diet. Experts say that the same diet can help to reduce the risk of cancer by regular intake.

Fruits and veggies are important for reducing cancer risk. Yellow and orange color foods have antioxidant properties, which are anti-cancer in nature. Sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, apricot, pumpkin are effective in lowering cancer. According to Susan Brown, people who ate most vegetables had the lowest risk of estrogen-receptor-negative breast cancer.

Whole grains are also important in fighting cancer. The fiber in grains can alter the action of hormones like estrogen and can also remove carcinogenic compounds from the body. According to research, breast cancer risk is lowered by 24% in women who eat beans twice a weak.

Similarly, least processed forms of Soy are said to keep away breast cancer. Though they contain phytoestrogens which may increase cancer risk.
