This story is about a reunion between two people, one who needed life and other who gifted it. Sawyer wanted to meet Schwartzel who saved his life.
Schwartzel was a physician assistant from San Diego who got himself enrolled with “Be The Match” Registry. This shows his kind nature and love for humanity. He was asked to donate in 2017 for Johnny Sawyer Dyer.
Johnny Sawyer Dyer was diagnosed with acute myeloid Leukemia in 2017. He stayed and was treated at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville before he was to receive a bone marrow transplant. The transplantation was to be done at Tristar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Sawyer was eight years old when he received the transplant.
Misty Dyer was Sawyer’s mother exclaimed happily that they owe Mr. Schwartzel and no thank-you can be much worthy for what he has done for her son. Misty remembered the time when his son was losing hair and health, and now he seems like a normal kid. The family arranged a meeting between Johnny and Schwartzel because Johnny wanted to meet the kind man. The moment they met was recorded. Schwartzel said that he feels like there is some special type of connection between him and Dyer.
Schwartzel said in a video that was given out by GMA about the miserable conditions created by the disease for the children. He said that he feels happy to help a child in this way and said that it’s not a big deal for him because he had that blessing from God which could save an innocent life. Schwartzel had a sympathetic nature which pulled out Dyer from the darkness he was dragged into.
