Cancer is a fatal disease in which unwanted cells grow repeatedly and harm the body of a person. Pancreatic cancer is also among lethal cancer types which may kill a person. It’s the third most deadly form of cancer. Many people become a victims each week.

It is not easy to diagnose the disease when it is at its initial stages and this is because of the location of the pancreas. The Pancreas is located deep inside the body. The six-inch long organ rests behind the stomach, in the abdomen.

The location hurdles make the disease treatment resistant and sometimes the disease becomes immune to chemotherapeutic treatments.

Both of these problems can be part of the reason for the person experiencing shorter a much shorter life after he or she has been diagnosed. The time period for those who have pancreatic cancer is now about 5 years.

Researchers have continued their hard work and finally, they got a solution that may help ease the problem. Researchers at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center developed a new drug for treatment of pancreatic cancer. The drug has increased 50% chances of survival in a person with pancreatic cancer.

The drug was prepared in a laboratory and tested on mice. The drug also prevents the resistance to treatment that is generated in the bodies of persons who have the disease.

Another treatment option is to remove pancreas but it is highly ineffective if the disease has invaded the rest of the body. A higher number of people with an age of 55 or some with age of 75 show the disease. If the disease is recognized in the first year, the survival chances are about 20%. But in fifth year there are only 9% chances that the victim may survive.

The new drug has increased survival chances greatly that are 50%.
