According to a recent research, cancer occurrence can be reduced by intake of such diet that prevents cancer. Healthy foods that contain low fat and meat content along lower processed food items, help to prevent cancer.
That particular diet includes legumes, beans, lentils, cereals with fruits and vegetables along lower intake of meat ( maximum uptake up to 18 ounces per week) and no intake of processed food and alcohol. Food grains contain fibers that can help to lower cancer risk. Orange and yellow colored fruits and vegetables have anti-oxidants and anti-cancer properties.
A research was completed within a time period of eight years. Researchers aimed at knowing about the connection between dietary habits and health. The research was conducted among 42,000 patients including people with 40 years of age and above. Three records were maintained every six months by the researchers, noting all activities of individuals like what they ate, beverages they drunk in every 24 hours, whether they ate alone or with people, their activities during eating.
The researchers prepared some nutrition plans and compared the data they had obtained with it. It was seen that people who followed the WCRF/AICR diet plans had 12% lower cancer risk compared to those who didn’t. That particular diet showed special effects on prostate and colon cancer.
