Connie, a cancer survivor who was diagnosed and treated, 18 years ago. The lady showed spirit and strength which can serve as an example for those who are fighting this battle. She survived triple negative breast cancer and gives five tips to those dealing with the disease.
Necessary to survive is the faith in God. It’s not something new for us but becomes really important when you are diagnosed with a life-threatening disease. Connie says that she prayed to God whenever she feels hopelessness and immediately God’s blessings appeared. They were either the cards, calls from loved ones or casseroles.
Second thing helpful in her survival was the love and affection from her family and friends. To forget that she was ill, Connie spent time with her husband, sons or mother and gained comfort in their company.
Thirdly, Connie coupled bitter and sweet events of her life. If she had a hectic day of treatment, she enjoyed left the remaining part of the day with things that gave her enjoyment.
Another important thing was, to keep the struggle on. No matter, how hard it was to move on, Connie managed to get out of bed and keep life moving.
The fifth important thing that helped her to fight cancer was not looking too far in case of her treatment, and she just kept following through with the upcoming treatment steps. Though it is important to look at the future, it also is important to give thoughts of how the stressful the current hard and stressful treatments might lessen your hope; you must remain hopeful for your friends, for your family and most important for yourself. Never, never give in or give up!
Connie lived but even if you know that your life may end sooner than you would like, enjoy the precious time of your life that you have left. Don’t waste what time you have left in despair.
Indeed, be kind and love, for that is what you will be remembered as – a kind and loving person who touched people with love.
