Benefits of HPV Vaccine Exceed Expectations –Might Eliminate Cervical Cancer

A new study has suggested the potential benefits of the HPV vaccine that can even help in eliminating cervical cancer.

As per a new study, it has been revealed that the overall benefits of the HPV vaccine can exceed the people with vaccination –the more people who are vaccinated, the better. The study has observed that the HPV vaccine had become more efficient than ever before as it can even help in eliminating cervical cancer.

A new study that was published in the journal named “The Lancet,” reveals that more people who receive the HPV vaccination, the better it is. This is because the potential benefits of the HPV vaccine not only helps in reducing the rate of HPV vaccination along with reducing the existence of precancerous cells in the cervix of individuals receiving the vaccine, but it also reduces the overall rate of diseases related to HPV in individuals who had not been vaccinated.

Potential Benefits of the HPV Vaccine

The findings of the study come as a recommendation from the federal advisory panel of the United States with respect to the fact that the HPV vaccine can be given to both men as well as women who are around the age of 26 years.

HPV –human papillomavirus, is known to be the leading reason for cervical cancer. The virus is also responsible for leading to other types of cancers including the head & neck cancer, the cancer of the penis, along with conditions like genital warts.

The HPV vaccine first came into existence in the year 2006. Since its introduction, over 115 countries, as well as territories around the world, have made use of the vaccine in the respective vaccination programs. The WHO (World Health Organization) suggests that girls who are aged between 9 & 13 should receive two dosage of the HPV vaccine.

Lauri Markowitz –the associate director of science for the study of the HPV vaccine and its potential benefits at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, states that the trials of the study have revealed the overall effectiveness of the HPV vaccine. Moreover, the reduction in precancerous cells & HPV vaccines is a vital sign that HPV vaccination can eventually help in preventing cervical cancer. Upon HPV vaccination, the researchers have also observed a reduction in cases of the development of genital warts.
